Hey all,
I've made a decision to put The Only Times I've Ever Known on indefinite hiatus.
As much as I’ve enjoyed writing this, it’s a lot of time and effort to publish on a platform that’s seeing increasing, justifiable backlash. In January, I came out as a trans woman, and I’m not comfortable staying on a platform that supports those questioning my right to exist. I might continue one day, but it would be in a different format and certainly not on Substack.
As the world begins to open up again, I’m instead putting my energies into searching for both freelance and full-time work. In addition to the Substack, I’ve continued writing for publications like Pitchfork and Them. (where I have an interview with the goth star Ethel Cain going up soon) and I’ve mixed projects for Zophia Dadlez and American Poetry Club.
In the meantime, you can follow me on Twitter @copperperson997 and contact me at joshuacopperman1@gmail.com, or my new address at hannahjocelync@gmail.com. Thank you so much for reading and supporting this whole endeavor. It’s been real.
As the namesake of this newsletter would say, don’t take any shit from anybody.
